Hearing, vision & dual-sensory impairment: Hillsborough private schools and FES-UA funding

Hearing and vision categories unlock assistive technology, hearing aids, vision therapy and listening-and-spoken-language therapy. 21 private schools in Hillsborough report serving this category to the Florida DOE; 14 also accept the state scholarship.

Verified against the state record. School details on this page are reproduced from the Florida Department of Education Private School Directory (Hillsborough district), retrieved October 17, 2026. Scholarship participation reflects the state's FTC/FES-EO participating-school flag on that date. Tuition is not reported to the state — confirm it with the school.

What the FES-UA account pays for

Hearing aids and prescription eyeglasses are eligible assistive technology; vision therapy by a licensed optometrist and LSL therapy are specialized services.
Assistive devices not enumerated in the guide need pre-authorization.

The account can pay the school's tuition and eligible fees, licensed therapies (ABA, speech, OT, PT, counseling), credentialed tutors, curriculum, devices and assistive technology, specialized summer programs, testing and evaluations. See every category →
